Description

Oh my gawd, it's anime style! =D

I painted this for the calendar contest of the german Animexx community. It's one of my first online communities; I've been there for 5 years now but never have participated in the annual calendar contest before.

The characters are the Animexx mascots Aiko and Yuuki. The picture is for the month March/April, because I love cherry blossoms. It was fun to paint :)

Nice to see you try other styles.
Lovely colors and I love the Manga book cover style composition.
Now the crits:
-Red-headed chick seems to have dislocated her leg. Or so it seems^^.
-Blue-haired girl's hand look a wee bit too tiny to me. Might be just me, tho.

Great work! I thought it was a girl and a guy, (getting harder to tell, nowadays.) The redhead's fabric is perfect. I see no problems with anatomy myself, great body (redhead). Really perfect all around.

Very nice.

Agree with Mert, especially related to the dislocated leg.
Maybe it is just a bit to thin.

Some issues with leg indeed and your lines seem a bit "quivery" did you maybe draw them by hand? For tight lines on the PC it would really need to be Vector lines :S
Well done composition and story telling

Thanks a bunch for the input and critiques.
Yes, I did draw the lines by hand, they do look a bit quivery in original size. ^^;

I really like the colors. I think the undersides of the clothes could use some slightly darker shadows though.

Beautiful work! Good lighting and colors. I don't feel the borders do anything.

lovely drawing, very different from your usual style. I think that there is a bit too much space between the nose and the eyes of the boy..

Wow! This is just beautiful. Perhaps a tad too bright but I love the scene, composition, characters, and colors. You are very talented.
